Anna Daddario was born in New York City on March 16, 1986, the eldest child of
Christina, a lawyer, and Richard Daddario, a prosecutor and former head of the
New York City Police Department counterterrorism unit. She is of Italian,
Irish, English, and Slovak descent. She has a younger brother, Matthew
Daddario, and a younger sister, who are both actors as well. Her paternal
grandfather was Emilio Q. Daddario, a Democratic member of the U.S. House of
Representatives for Connecticut from 1959 to 1971.

Daddario
was raised on Manhattan's Upper East Side. She attended Brearley School and the
Professional Children's School. Daddario said she decided to be an actress at
the age of 11."I always loved storytelling," she stated in 2019.
"It was just something I genuinely wanted to do – and I could've done
anything, really. I did have every opportunity on the planet." She
attended Marymount Manhattan College before dropping out to pursue acting
full-time. She has studied the Meisner acting technique for years.
Personal life
Having
met while filming "Percy Jackson," Daddario began dating actor Logan
Lerman in 2010. Though rumored to have been briefly engaged, the couple split
in 2015. Shortly thereafter, Daddario began dating the lawyer and TV host
television Ari Melber. . Eventually, they too broke up. Later in 2019, Daddario
began dating actor Brendan Wallace.
Early Film Career And Percy Jackson
In 2005, Daddario had a small role in Noah Baumbach's divorce comedy-drama "The Squid and the Whale." He followed this with roles in Ethan Hawke's “The Hottest State,” the horror film “The Attic” and the independent drama “The Babysitters,” starring John Leguizamo and Cynthia Nixon. Daddario's first major role, however, came in 2010, when she played Athena's demigod daughter, Annabeth Chase, in the fantasy adventure "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief."
Based on the popular young adult novel of the same name, the film featured a great cast including Logan Lerman, Rosario Dawson, Uma Thurman, Catherine Keener, Pierce Brosnan, and Steve Coogan. films "Bereavement" and "Texas Chainsaw 3D," and had a
supporting role in the Farrelly brothers' comedy "Hall Pass,"
starring Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis. In 2014, he was cast in the zombie
comedy "Burying the Ex" and in 2015 he had a leading role in the
disaster movie "San Andreas" with Dwayne Johnson. Following this, he
appeared in Nicholas Sparks' romantic drama "The Choice"; a film
adaptation of "Baywatch" with Zac Efron; the sex comedy "The
Layover," starring model Kate Upton; the psychological thriller
"Night Hunter"; and the mystery film "We have always lived in
the castle".
Daddario's
later film credits include "Lost Transmissions" and "Lost Girls
& Love Hotels." In 2019, the actress produced and starred in the
slasher film “We Summon the Darkness”. That year, she also executive produced
and starred in "Can You Keep a Secret?", a romantic comedy based on
the book of the same name. In 2020, Daddario was cast in the dystopian film
"Songbird", which was the first film to be shot in Los Angeles during
the COVID pandemic.
